Our team specializes in developing and implementing energy and operational cost saving measures. While energy savings is a primary focus, ESP looks beyond just energy to the core issues our clients face. We make sure that the design of solutions is in accord with the mission and strategic plan of our client, and then bridge the gap between theory and reality by providing professional implementation services that offer cost-effective, timely and value-oriented results.
There's no set way you have to work with us. We're not just consultants; we implement and stand behind the solutions we propose with real guarantees - not the "you have my word, I ga-rawn-tee it" type, but the real dollars and cents type; the "we pay if we're wrong" kind.
Energy Audits
Energy audits are the foundation of any energy efficiency improvement effort. You have to know where you're starting from if you're going to become more efficient.
The audit process
We begin with discussions with your staff, analysis of your historical utility data, and on-site observation of your facilities. You may be thinking that we'll show up with some of those Ghostbusters' gadgets, and we've got a few, but don't be disappointed when we're not wearing space suits or night-vision goggles. Practical experience has proven that there's no replacement for jeans, a notebook and a pen when climbing on roofs, crawling around boiler rooms, and shimmying through steam tunnels.
The results
We could just say that you get a report when we're done, but it's so much more. You'll end up with:
- Insight into your utility consumption and awareness of any oddities;
- An understanding of the condition, expected longevity, and energy efficiency of your current equipment;
- Recommendations on solutions that will improve your energy efficiency;
- and an estimation of the amount of energy you could be saving.
Energy Saving Contracts
Energy-efficient facility improvements-
Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) is a procurement tool designed to help address energy, facility and financial needs. It helps organizations improve efficiencies, stretch existing budgeted dollars and address major infrastructure needs. When properly applied, an EPC project yields benefits that positively affect the operational, environmental and financial landscape of an organization, its community and the world for many years. We can assist you in evaluating the total cost of ownership (or life cycle cost analysis) of a wide variety of solutions.
Issues that have been addressed by Energy Performance Contracting are quite varied, including, but not limited to:
- Repair/Replace roof, windows, pipes
- New chillers, boilers, and HVAC equipment
- Resolve code-compliance issues
- New energy management systems
- Building renovations & upgrades
- Address power quality & supply issues
- Improve comfort & productivity
- Utility & operational savings (up to 35%)
This procurement tool provides a creative way to achieve strategic master plan goals, and offers many advantages over the traditional construction-project approach (Plan, Specify, Bid & Build).
- Timely completion (months vs. years)
- Solutions offer lowest cost to own (Not simply lowest first cost)
- Cost & savings guarantee (low risk)
- More control of vendor selection
- Future funds pay for upgrades today
- More control of contractors to use
- Finance with no tax or debt capacity impact
Energy Conservation Training
Energy conservation training is primarily a people-oriented program that educates employees in energy saving measures within their discipline. It concentrates mostly on after-hours and non-occupied days for savings. The program does not disrupt your primary activities or make the environment uncomfortable. It is intended to improve the environment during occupied hours and increase the savings during non-occupied hours.
The program enlightens staff to be more energy conscious within the realm of their job. It also assigns responsibility for energy savings to those people in positions that have the most opportunity to save energy.
Our program trains every level of your staff in energy saving methods. They learn to identify and report energy loss through a specially designed reporting system to ensure immediate correction to energy problems. This training is an important component to ensure you achieve the maximum energy savings possible.
